Pastors Learning Cohort

March 25, April 22, May 20, 2025
Tuesdays 9:30 – 11:30 am

Overview
In a culture that often seeks to avoid or minimize pain, how do we preach to people who face suffering of all kinds? How should we wisely and vulnerably share elements of our own suffering in our preaching? And how can we preach for healing and transformation as we embrace the reality of suffering? This 3-session learning cohort will engage these questions and equip participants to implement a plan for preaching to people in pain.

Learners engage with Matthew Kim’s Preaching to People in Pain: How Suffering Can Shape Your Sermons and Connect with Your Congregation (2021) and engage in discussion-based learning times together.

This cohort is for anyone who is engaged in teaching and preaching in their church or ministry context. This cohort has a maximum of 10 participants. Participants are responsible for purchasing their own book.
