August 27 – October 15, 2024
Every Other Tuesday 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm
Overview
This 8-week course (meeting 4 times) focuses on understanding the overarching biblical story from Genesis to Revelation, as well as understanding the various cultural stories that shape our contemporary world so that we can better understand the way that people in our culture and churches inhabit these stories in their everyday lives. These stories are compared and contrasted with the big story of the Bible in order to equip participants to better understand and communicate God’s mission for his people in our contemporary culture.
Learners engage with The True Story of the Whole World: Finding Your Place in the Biblical Drama (2020) and Hidden Worldviews: Eight Cultural Stories that Shape Our Lives (2009).
Intended Competencies

- Summarize key stories of our current culture and how they are embodied in the practices of both the culture and the church.
